Here is a video that has been forwarded to me. I hope it can help others to quickly identify Inflammatory Breast cancer so steps can aggressively be taken toward getting well. People need to be aware that there isn't just one type of breast cancer.

Are You Tired of
Feeling T-I-R-E-D?!?

Re-Energize Your Body With The Aqua Chi Energy Foot Spa. The Aqua Chi Energy Spa helps the body to detoxify itself.

For an appointment call (704)588-7638.

Boost Your Body’s Battery!
The Aqua Chi Foot bath unit is an alternative natural health device that may help your body strengthen and balance itself!

The unit works through the most basic and plentiful substance in your body: water! The human body is approximately 80% water. Water is an excellent conductor of electricity. The human body functions off of electro-magnetic signals. The brain sends signals to each part of the body and back to the brain. When cells have enough energy they are able to function properly. The Energy Foot Spa charges the water and the water (which your feet soak in) charges your body. This allows the body to absorb vital energy on a cellular level, creating cell balance.

Once the body receives the energy, the body starts detoxing on its own. This may happen through the feet while in the bath, or through the urinary system, bowels and skin. As the Energy Foot Spa starts detoxifying and energizing the system on a cellular level, the body is able to release waste products more readily. The Aqua Chi unit charges the water and the water (in which your feet are soaking) charges your entire body!. Similar to a car battery that charges a car, the human body greatly benefits from being re-charged.

In just 35 minutes, the Aqua Chi unit may energize cells, may balance and strengthen the body to eliminate toxins and may increase your overall sense of health and well-being.

Several Energy Spa users have even testified to a dramatic increase in the potency and effectiveness of supplements when using the Spa! (This increased energy may last for several days.) It can be used as often as every other day, but most people choose to have a treatment on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

CAUTION: Not for anyone who...
n is wearing a pacemaker

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the footbath water become discolored?
At the end of a treatment, the footbath will be discolored. Some of this discoloration is due to the minerals in the water or sea salt that is being used in the foot bath, and some of it may be the body releasing toxins from your skin into the water. The color changes in the water will vary between clients and between sessions. It may change a lot or it may change very little. This is normal! The machine is working fine and the body will be absorbing energy. When slight color changes occur, the body may choose to detox through the urinary system and through the colon rather than through the lymph system via the skin during a foot bath session.

Are there any precautions for elderly or overweight individuals?
Overweight or elderly individuals will be started at a slower pace on their first treatment, and then resume a normal treatment on their next visit.

Can children do a foot bath treatment?
Yes! Even young children may benefit greatly from one of these treatments. Children 4-7 years old will have a 10-15 minute session; 8-12 years old will have a 15-20 minute session; and 13-17 years old will have a 20-35 minute session, depending on their size and physical condition.

Is there anyone who cannot use this equipment?
It is beneficial for people of all ages, but you should NOT use this machine if you have a pacemaker, are pregnant or breast feeding, or have a transplanted organ.

THE NSP CLASSROOM: PART 2

PART 2: PHYTOCHEMICALS AND THEIR BENEFITS
by Sarah Eliason, Health Sciences & Educational Services Dept.
Published in Sunshine Horizons Magazine, Vol. 32, No. 3, July 2007

Phytochemicals are specialized chemicals found in plants. (Phyto is Greek for plant.) Plants actually produce phytochemicals to protect themselves from attackers, such as providing a bitter taste to a bug that nibbles its leaf. Research suggest that phytochemicals can help protect good health and prevent disease in humans as well.

Phytochemicals provide health benefits through a variety of mechanisms. These include inactivating cell-damaging substances, stimulating the immune system, protecting estrogen-influenced organs and maintaining hormonal balance in cells, and providing antibacterial and antiviral actions. Perhaps the biggest benefit phytochemicals offer is their ability to provide antioxidant protection.

Phytochemicals are also responsible for the vibrant colors of the fruits and vegetables we eat every day, and they provide many of the health benefits associated with natural supplements. Most herbs provide protective actions through their phytochemicals.

Diets that include good sources of phytochemicals are associated with dramatically better health and longevity in major studies. ~Bloch, A. etal.1995. Position of the American Dietetic Association: Phytochemicals and functional foods. JADA. 95:49-496.

Carotenoids are the pigments responsible for the colors of many yellow, orange, red and green fruits and vegetables. This large family of phytochemicals includes beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, lutein, lycopene, zeaxanthin, cryptoxanthin, phytoene, phytofluene, and astaxanthin. Carotenoids protect the body through their antioxidant actions. They also support longevity, vision, and the heart and circulatory system.

THE NSP CLASSROOM: PART 1

PART 1: UNDERSTANDING THE CELL
by Sarah Eliason, Health Sciences & Educational Services Dept.
Published in Sunshine Horizons Magazine, Vol. 32, No. 1, January 2007

The cell is often called "the building block of life." Our bodies are made up of many cells working together to sustain life. In fact, the body contains 100 trillion cells or more. By becoming familiar with the basic structure and function of the human cell, we can better understand how nutritional supplements provide health benefits on a cellular level.

In order to survive, a cell needs to carry out numerous functions. Inside each cell, specialized structures called organelles serve specific functions. The many cell duties are divided among the different organelles; these organelles collectively work to complete the tasks required of the cell.

Every cell is enclosed by a membrane, which is made of phospholipids and includes proteins, lipids and glycoconjugates (glycoproteins and glycolipids). The membrane diligently controls what enters and exits the cell. Glycoconjugates on the cell surface act as signaling messengers, playing a role in cell-to-cell communication.

Organelles within the cell include:

The nucleus is the control center. DNA is found within the nucleus and contains the blueprints necessary for the building of proteins and enzymes. This molecule of heredity is responsibility for passing genetic information on from one generation to the next.

Ribosomes are protein-producing machines responsible for processing the genetic instructions carried by a modified copy of DNA. The ribosomes work to translate a specific genetic sequence into a specific amino acid sequence that makes up a protein.

Mitochondria provide the energy a cell needs to function - they are the power centers of the cell. Mitochondria convert food into ATP, the primary energy source for the cell.

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) has two forms: rough ER, which has ribosomes on the surface, and smooth ER, which lacks them. Both types of ER compartmentalize and transport molecules. The rough ER exports proteins from the cell made by its ribosomes. The smooth ER plays important roles in synthesis of molecules and in detoxification.

The golgi apparatus acts as a central delivery system for the cell. It is a site for protein modification, packaging and transport.

Lysosomes and peroxisomes could be called the garbage disposal system of a cell as they play important roles in cellular digestion. Inside these organelles digestive enzymes break down various compounds.

A variety of factors affect the cell membrane's ability to maintain its integrity and function:

  • Increased lipid peroxidation. Free radicals "steal" electrons from the lipids in our cell membranes, causing cell damage. Inflammatory conditions, weakened immune system, daily stresses and environmental toxins create more damaging free radicals. Unchecked, this can lead to complete loss of cell membrane integrity.

  • Changes in cell membrane composition. Aged and unhealthy cells contain fewer unsaturated fatty acids, resulting in less fluid membranes with decreased transport capacities.

  • Impaired cell-to-cell communication. Without healthy cell surface glycoproteins, tasks of building enzymes, hormones, immunoglobulins and antibodies may be impaired.

Support a Healthy Cell Membrane

  1. Glyco Essentials provides eight special sugars that support the production of the cell membrane's glycoconjugates, aiding in healthy cell-to-cell communication.

  2. Lecithin provides choline, which is found in healthy cell membranes; it helps basic signaling processes within the cell.

  3. Super Omega-3 EPA provides fatty acids to support cell membrane structure, integrity and fluidity.

  4. Vitamin E, an antioxidant, is found embedded in the cell membrane. It protects lipids in the cell membrane from free radical damage.

Free radicals can accumulate in the body and damage the structure of DNA in the cell's nucleus.

This leads to decreased cellular function and ultimately decreased functioning of entire body systems. Free radicals DNA damage is implicated in aging, immune dysfunction and abnormal cell growth.

Support and Protect DNA in the Cell's Nucleus

  1. Cellular Build provides the body with nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA. DNA multiplication and repair requires millions of nucleotides.
  2. Indole-2-Carbinol is a powerful antioxidant that supports healthy DNA.
  3. Thai-Go® contains antioxidant flavonoids to combat oxidative stress and damage to DNA.
  4. SOD with Gliadin is a natural defense against free radical damage to DNA. Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) is an antioxidant enzyme produced by the body; levels of SOD decrease with age.
  5. N-Acetyl Cysteine is a precursor to glutathione, one of the body's most powerful antioxidants. It protects healthy cellular DNA from free radical damage.

A key to aging may be contained in a cell's mitochondria.

Mutations in mitochondrial DNA cause several changes associated with aging. Damage to the mitochondria that occurs with aging may contribute to:

  • Decreased energy production
  • Decreased cognitive function
  • Decreased antioxidant availability
  • Interference with inflammatory response
Support Optimal Mitochondrial Function and Cellular Longevity

  1. Alpha Lipoic Acid is a "universal antioxidant" that helps reverse age-related decline in mitochondrial function.
  2. L-Carnitine promotes mitochondrial activity and metabolism. It is needed to transport fatty acids into the mitochondria for energy production.

  3. IF Relief promotes soothing relief, antioxidant protection and energy production.

FLEAS, LICE, SCABIES? TRY PAW PAW SHAMPOO

Simple Instructions for Making Paw Paw Shampoo

Open 10 capsules of Paw Paw Cell-Reg (Nature's Sunshine Product Number 511-3) and mix into about 2 tablespoons of an all natural shampoo (i.e. NSP's Herbal Shampoo or NSP's Natria Restoring Shampoo. This will be gritty but will still be effective. Add 7 drops of Thyme Essential Oil and 4 drops of Tea Tree Oil.

Non-gritty Formulation and Instructions
Combine the contents of 10 capsules of Paw Paw Cell-Reg with 2 tablespoons pure grain alcohol or isopropyl alcohol. Mix together well in a small glass. Cover and let stand until particles have settled. Carefully pour off the liquid onto a saucer. (The alcohol extracts the active compounds in the paw paw capsules. Thus it is important to not discard the liquid! Add 2 more tablespoons of alcohol to the solid mass in the glass and mix well. Cover and let stand until the particles have settled. Carefully pour off the liquid onto the saucer. Some of the particles may pour off with the liquid. Let the saucer stand until all of the alcohol has evaporated. When the alcohol has evaporated, mix 2 tablespoons of shampoo into the residue on the saucer until well combined and uniform in color. Then add 7 drops of Thyme Essential Oil and 4 drops of Tea Tree Oil to the shampoo mixture. You can make a larger batch of shampoo. However, it will take longer for evaporation of the alcohol to occur.

Follow these instructions exactly for removal of head lice.*
1. Lather 2 tablespoons of shampoo into dry hair and scalp.
2. Place shower cap/hair net on head to contain shampoo and to protect the eyes.
3. Leave shampoo lather on hair for 60 minutes.
4. Rinse shampoo thoroughly from hair and scalp.
5. Dry and comb hair thoroughly with lice comb and remove nits/lice.
6. Repeat steps 1–6 in eight days and again in 16 days to insure thorough and
complete removal; use regular shampoo in the meantime.

*Long or thick hair will require one additional tablespoon of shampoo and will need to remain on head an additional 15 minutes.

New Science behind Nature’s Sunshine
Manager Extra (7/1/2006)

In today’s society, where skeptics and critics are rarely in short supply, many people are reluctant to believe in anything without solid evidence. Knowing this, and desiring to set an example for the supplement industry, Nature’s Sunshine employs scientists and researchers to verify the purity, power and effectiveness of NSP products. Here are just a few examples of the work they’ve recently performed.

Raise Your Glass
Recent Research Earns Praise for Nature’s Noni® Juice
The following article was taken from an interview held in January 2006 with Dr. William Keller, Vice President of Health Sciences and Educational Services at Nature’s Sunshine.

The past few years have witnessed an increased volume of research on the phytonutrients in noni fruit. Nature’s Sunshine performs numerous analytical tests to assure the quality of the raw material used to produce Nature’s Noni Juice. The phytonutrients that we have isolated and characterized can be used to establish the unequivocal purity of each bottle of our product. These phytonutrients are special molecules that can have powerful effects on the body. Noni’s impressive array of compounds includes anthraquinones, a variety of antioxidants and specialized polysaccharides.

Publications Cite Health Sciences’ Findings
Anthraquinones are known to exist in many plants such as cascara and rhubarb. Very recently we published a paper in the Journal of Natural Products, which described our isolation of a new anthraquinone from noni fruit. In laboratory bioassays, this anthraquinone was found to be cancer-chemopreventive because it activates enzymes known to eliminate cancer-causing chemicals from the body.

Another article authored by Dr. Keller and his fellow researchers in the Journal of Natural Products reports the isolation and identification of a series of chemical compounds in noni—two of which were previously unknown. These new compounds were found to be powerful antioxidants, as they effectively neutralize free radicals that come from a variety of sources such as pollution and UV light. If not neutralized, free radicals can cause serious damage to cells and cellular components. In addition, the feeling of energy that most people perceive when they drink Nature’s Noni can be partly attributed to its antioxidant effect.

Nature’s Noni Juice is also rich in specialized polysaccharides that stimulate immune cells to become more active. NSP has collaborated with a research group at a nationally recognized school of pharmacy to demonstrate that Nature’s Noni has immunostimulant activity six times greater than the noni products of our competitors.

Positive Lab Results Using
Paw Paw Cell-Reg and Thai-Go®
The following was taken from an article published in the UK edition of the Sunshine Horizons magazine.

Dr. Keller recently advised Dr. Fred Valeriote of the Ford Cancer Clinic about the benefits of Nature’s Sunshine Paw Paw Cell-Reg and the powerful antioxidant drink Thai-Go. Upon receiving this information, Dr. Valeriote suggested that he and NSP conduct a collaborative laboratory experiment using these products with live cultures of human colon cancer cells (HCT 116).

In his first experiment, Dr. Valeriote added Paw Paw Cell-Reg to HCT 116 cultures. He observed powerful results. In another experiment, he added a combination of Paw Paw Cell-Reg and Thai-Go to the same cultures. Once again the results were dramatic, but Dr. Valeriote noted a synergistic effect between the two products that enhanced the results, making them more effective when used together.

This second experiment was important for two reasons. It not only demonstrated the effectiveness of the combination but also showed that Paw Paw Cell-Reg acts by a mechanism that is independent of free radicals. We have found that Thai-Go enhances rather than diminishes the effects of Paw Paw Cell-Reg on HCT 116 cultures.

Thanks to the encouraging results of these experiments, Dr. Valeriote has decided to continue his research on these products. He is currently conducting a study at the Ford Cancer Clinic using Thai-Go with patients who are receiving radiation therapy.

Science is slowly unraveling some of Mother Nature’s secrets, and Nature’s Sunshine is leading the way to ensure that you will always have access to the best, most powerful supplements that nature so generously affords us.
