	Rub That Joint and Muscle Pain Away   With cold weather the aches and pain associated with winter sometimes make simple chores unbearable. Anyone who's ever rubbed a sore elbow or shoulder knows massage can bring immediate relief to pain and stiffness.  But few realize what a potent tool massage can be for healing arthritic joints. Inflammation causes tissues to swell, which means excess fluid gets trapped in spaces around the cell.  This locks oxygen and nutrients from getting in the tissues and slows the removal of waste materials. Taking supplements helps but without joint mobility and lack of circulation in the damaged joint it  is difficult for the nutrients and healing to reach the areas needed.  Massage removes the excess fluid by pumping it into the lymphatic system.  This removes waste allowing the oxygen and healing nutrition to inter the tissues. So massaging a painful joint or part of the body to make the pain go away feels great.  But continuing to massage so the pain won't come back is just as important.  If the pain comes back in 4 hours than massage in 3 to keep it away for several more hours.  Eventually you will not have to massage as much but it could save surgery or long term prescription use.
