Please attend a House Health Committee hearing on Thursday, April 30 at 12:00 noon in Room 544 of the Legislative Office Building in Raleigh. We will meet in the third floor lobby at 11:30 a.m., where we will give you a badge that shows you support HB-842. Please be prepared to stay until 1:00 p.m. (Business attire is appropriate at the State House.) Join us early if you can. Meet at 9:30 a.m. as we plan to make personal visits to representatives and tell them about our support for Health Freedom and HB-842. Email Cookie Tillman (cookiesswc@earthlink.net) for directions.  Please allow extra time to park and walk. HB-842 would give ALL unlicensed alternative practitioners of all modalities the legal right to practice in North Carolina. The current laws prohibit unlicensed practitioners from practicing in this state. HB-842 is a safe harbor bill, giving exemption to alternative practitioners who do no harm. We are counting on your help to pass the CONSUMER HEALTH FREEDOM ACT, HB-842 this year.   ACTION: CALL, FAX OR EMAIL to let your legislators know you support HB-842 before the hearing. We have included a one-page letter  (PDF) to legislators in this mailing. Please make copies for your clients, customers, family and friends. Have everyone sign it and add their personal testimonies and remarks. Make copies enough for their senator, representative, the sponsors and co-sponsors, and the Health Committee. Put the names of the legislators at the top and have them ready to distribute at the State House. Find your personal district representative and senator.  Go to www.ncleg.net and enter your zip code on the lower right-hand side of the page. To find your district rep's office address, go to http://www.ncleg.net/GIS/RandR07/Home.html, click on Member Lookup (in the right-hand column) and select your representative's name.  Find contact information for the bill sponsor and Health Committee Members (PDF).  Send your letter to the OFFICE address, or make a phone call to the home or office of each of these representatives TODAY. Remember to include your name, address and phone number! If you don't, they will not read it, and your efforts will be wasted! We need your contact information to communicate with you if there is a change in time, and for future hearings.
