What a terrific 35th Anniversary celebration we just completed aboard the beautiful Mariner of the Seas cruise ship. It was fun to see 3,300 excited Nature's Sunshine enthusiasts on our Convention Cruise , and it was a trip to remember. I really enjoyed meeting so many of my Nature's Sunshine friends during this adventure. Not only did we see some exciting sights in Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, but we benefited from wonderful education with workshops and training from Dr. Hugo Rodier, Dr. Gordon Pedersen, Steven Horne, Mary Christensen and many others. Anthocyanins are found in fruits and vegetables and protect many body systems. Among other potential health benefits, anthocyanins have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Researchers in Norway have shown that anthocyanins from bilberries and black currants reduced levels of transcription factor nuclear factor-kappa B, a compound that is activated when the body is exposed to stimuli, including free radicals, ultraviolet irradiation, stress, and bacteria and viruses. In one clinical trial, those taking 300 mg of the bilberry and black currant anthocyanin extract daily for three weeks had a reduction of 25-60% in various inflammatory mediators.
