Meet the Instructors
Gordon Pedersen graduated with a Ph.D. from the Toxicology Program at Utah State University. He has a master’s degree in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness. He serves as the director of the Institute of Alternative Medicine and was nominated to chair the United States Pharmacopoeia Review Board Natural Products Committee. Dr. Pedersen is the formulator of more that 150 nutritional products. He is an international best-selling author and is the host of the radio show “Common Sense Medicine.”
Alex Duarte, O.D., Ph.D., is a nationally recognized lecturer, author, radio and television personality. Dr. Duarte began his professional career as a research microbiologist. After earning a California secondary teaching credential, he taught biology and chemistry. Dr. Duarte then went on to earn a doctorate in Optometry and practiced for nine years. He has traveled the world finding nontoxic health alternatives. Dr. Duarte also holds a Ph.D. in Nutrition and is Fellow of the International Academy of Medical Preventives. Dr. Duarte is a member of the Board of Editors of the Journal of Applied Nutrition.
