Peaches are the fruit with the most pesticides overall: 96.6% of samples tested had detectable pesticides. The average sample had 3.1 different pesticides on it. (Some had as many as 9.) Peaches also had the highest overall total amount of pesticides.







Apples are the second most contaminated fruit: 92.1% of the samples testing positive for presence of pesticides. The average sample had 2.5 different pesticides. (Some had as many as 9 on a single sample.)






Sweet Bell Peppers are the vegetable with the most pesticides: 81.5% of samples tested positive for pesticides. The average sample had 2.4 different pesticides on it. (Some had as many as 11 on a single sample.)






Celery is second most contaminated vegetable: 94.1% of all samples tested positive for pesticides. The average sample had 3 different pesticides on it. (Some had as many as 9 on a single sample.)
