We carry many products that boost the immune system and support the body during the healing process. The key to avoiding any illness is to keep your immune system up. We have to stay aware of not only what we eat, drink, and put in our bodies (such as medications) but also what we expose our bodies to such as, cleaning products ect. With all of the toxins that we are exposed to, the bodys energy cannot flow correctly and the natural healing ability is compromised. It's no wonder that cancer is on the rise among the many other illnesses. | | What is Polarity Therapy? | | | | I am asked this question on a regular basis. I wanted to share the answer with everyone. Energy fields and currents exist everywhere in nature. Polarity Therapy asserts that the flow and balance of energy in the human body is the foundation of good health. In the Polarity model, health is experienced when: 1.Energy systems function in their natural state, and 2.Energy flows smoothly without significant blockage or fixation. When energy is unbalanced, blocked or fixed due to stress or other factors, pain and disease arise. Blockages generally manifest in sequence from the subtle to the dense levels of the field. Polarity Therapy seeks to find the blockages and release energy to normal flow patterns, and to maintain the Energy Field in an open, flexible condition. A blend of modern science and complementary medicine, Polarity Therapy is a comprehensive health system involving energy-based bodywork, diet, exercise and self-awareness. Scientifically, it works with the Human Energy Field, electromagnetic patterns expressed in mental, emotional and physical experience. In Polarity Therapy, health is viewed as a reflection of the condition of the energy field, and therapeutic methods are designed to balance the field for health benefit. There are 3 types of energy fields in the human body: Long line currents that run north to south on the body; Transverse currents that run east-west in the body; and spiral currents that start at the navel and expand outward. In the healing arts, Polarity Therapy is special in its comprehensive exploration of the different dimensions of the human condition (physical, mental and emotional). Polarity Therapy seeks to bridge the full spectrum of body, mind and spirit: the body is designed by nature to heal itself. Polarity Therapy assists in this natural occurrence). Applying the Polarity Therapy system can take diverse forms, always based on the underlying intent ion to support the client's inherent self-healing intelligence as expressed in its energetic patterns. Polarity Therapy was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, DO, DC, ND (1890-1981), who conducted a thorough investigation of energy in the healing arts over the course of his 60-year medical career. Drawing on information from a wide range of sources, he found that the Human Energy Field is affected by touch, diet, movement, sound, attitudes, relationships, life experience, trauma and environmental factors. Since Polarity Therapy lends an energy-based perspective to all these subjects, the scope of Polarity practice is often very broad, with implications for health professionals in many therapeutic disciplines. As a result, Polarity supports strong connections to many other healing and holistic health systems. For example, basic characteristics of the Human Energy Field are described in many sources, both ancient and modern. From the Ayurvedic tradition, Polarity integrates the "Th ree Principles and Five Chakras" and has been called the modern manifestation of ancient Hermetic Philosophy. Polarity is experienced as the universal pulsation of expansion/contraction or repulsion/attraction known as Yang and Yin in Oriental therapies. Energy moves out from a central source which is repulsion, then back to the source which is attraction. Polarity practitioners use this natural phenomenon as a way of tracking energy flow. What can I expect in a typical Polarity Therapy session? In a typical session, the practitioner assesses energetic attributes using palpation, observation and interview methods. Sessions usually take 60-90 minutes, do not require disrobing, and involve soft touch, some rocking as well as point specific touch. Energetic Touch is the work Polarity Practitioners perform with clients verbal interaction is energetic communication which has to do with reading the energy in people's words and staying neutral vs. enga ging in the emotions of the patient and verbal interaction. Contact may be light, medium or firm. In the session, the practitioner supports the client in increasing self-awareness of subtle energetic sensations, which are often experienced as tingling, warmth, expansion or wavelike movement. The results of Polarity Therapy sessions vary, and may include profound relaxation, an understanding of energetic patterns and their implications, and relief from numerous specific problematic situations such as hypertension, anxiety attacks and breathing disorders. The History of Polarity Therapy Dr. Randolph Stone published his first work in 1947, and by 1954 had completed the seven books which contain his published findings. In his holistic medicine practice in Chicago, he applied the energy approach in a wide range of conditions and experienced remarkable success with patients. He began to teach in the 1960's and finally retired in 1974, at the age of 84. Following his retirement, many of Sto ne's students continued to research and apply his teachings. By 1984, a core group of advanced practitioners gathered to launch a national organization, the American Polarity Therapy Association, to support the continuation and expansion of the work. The annual conference of the new association immediately became a key forum for the exchange and dissemination of new understanding, a role which continues today greater than ever. About Dr. Randolph Stone Born Randolph Bautsch in Austria in 1890, the founder of Polarity Therapy immigrated to America as a youngster around 1898. His family settled in the upper Midwest, with relatives living in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He learned English by reading the Bible, and as a teenager he traveled widely throughout the U.S. After studying to become a Lutheran minister, he decided to pursue a path in the health profession. He completed his primary medical certifications in the early 1920s, including DO, DC and ND. He was a lifelong student, event ually adding certifications in a wide range of topics including massage and midwifery. Simultaneously he was fascinated by spiritual studies, including mysticism in many forms. He was an avid reader and book collector, and held the position of librarian for the Theosophical Society for many years. In the late 1920s, he married and changed his name to Randolph Stone. His esoteric interests created separation with his wife and they divorced without children. He loved to travel, and after his divorce he roamed widely in search of medical insights from other cultures under his motto, "Whatever works, works!" He maintained a medical practice for over 50 years in Chicago, developing a reputation for his willingness to work with "hopeless cases." These patients often responded to his increasingly unconventional approaches, which incorporated techniques from around the world. In the 1940s, he deepened his knowledge of and commitment to esoteric understanding by acceptin g initiation into a meditation system based in India. His dedication to this yogic path continued uninterruptedly for almost 40 years, and he made frequent visits to India to study and develop his inner knowledge. By the late 1940s, he had created a synthesis of his collected information. He published his first book, Energy, in 1947, advancing his concept that the polarized field of attraction and repulsion, as found in the atomic structure or in magnetic relationships, was the underlying reality which determined all physical phenomena including health. A series of seven books and pamphlets followed, all expounding on the basic Energy theme and providing numerous specific applications. In the mid-1950s he tried to attract interest in his ideas from the medical community. He offered free lectures, wrote articles for magazines, and repeatedly attempted to engage his colleagues in dialogue. These efforts were largely unsuccessful, as the drugs and surgery era was ascending rapidly throughout his profession. In the 1960s, already in his mid-70s, he found popularity for the first timenot with his colleagues, but with a new generation of health seekers for whom his blend of science and spirituality was not so unpalatable. In seminars in California, he vigorously preached his message of holistic health and the seed of Polarity Therapy finally found soil fertile enough to survive. Dr. Stone retired in 1974 at the age of 84. He moved to India where he lived in a meditation community and offered free services in a public clinic. He gradually withdrew from public life, eventually passing on peacefully in December 1981 at age 91 of natural causes. Polarity Therapy Standards for Practice In 1989, APTA published the Polarity Therapy Standards for Practice, creating a consensus statement of the scope and content of Polarity Therapy, and setting the foundation for the registration of practitioners and Approved Trainings. Shortly thereafter, APTA also produce d its Code of Ethics and created administrative functions to support the growth of Polarity Therapy. In 2003, APTA published the Standards for Practice and Education Practice (pdf), 4th edition, which establish the minimum requirements for Approved Trainings relevant to Program Administration.Polarity Therapy today enjoys a steadily increasing usage worldwide. The concept of energy in the healing arts has been validated repeatedly, numerous books and new resources have made study easier and more efficient, and the practice of Polarity Therapy has become ever more diverse and sophisticated. Upon receiving a Polarity session, ask for credititionals. I has came to my attention that many are claiming to practice Polarity Therapy without the proper training from a Polarity therapy school. Attending a Polarity therapy class does not constitute one as a Polarity practitioner. Susie Grimmett, App (Associate Polarity Practitioner) The cost for a Polarity Therapy session is as follows:$55.00 per 1 hour session $30.00 Per 1/2 hour session | | | | | |
